When the press release, “No Need to Cut Back on Red Meat?” hit the news, the controversial question activated all sides concerned with health facts and data. It is in sharp contrast to the twenty-plus years of research indicating the health benefits of cutting back on animal products. The story line poses the exact opposite proposition. With Beyond Meat making the headlines and fast-food restaurants quickly adopting plant-based foods for their menus…I had to wonder about the timing of this research. Is more meat consumption the best choice for our planet?
